Medical sign and image processing
In the field of medical sign and image processing, research work has been carried out in Szeged for nearly 30 years in the following areas: examination methods based on nuclear medicine (isotope), radiology document image processing and transmission, irradiation planning (3D modelling in CT examination), operation planning, dynamic analysis of breathing mechanics and heart rates.
As regards economic use, the following subjects seem promising in the field of medical sign and image processing: new trends of tomography image formation and their application in industrial diagnostics, segmentation of medical images based on the anatomical atlas, and their application in medical therapies, computer aided operation planning, prototype development in breathing mechanics procedures.
